General Diagnostic & Preventive Dentistry Services
General diagnostic and preventative dentistry involves the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of the entire mouth to help maintain. This includes radiographs (x-rays), CBCT scans (3D), and traditional and infrared cameras for examining the head and mouth.
Regular cleanings and exams help you maintain on your oral health. Our experienced and friendly hygienists will make your teeth shine as well as check for gum disease, take necessary imaging and provide fluoride treatments. With routine checks, we can determine if you have gingivitis, decay, cracks or any other underlying concerns that may require further treatment.
Comprehensive Exams
Comprehensive Exams are performed with the initial meeting at our office. They can also occur when you have been a patient for a while and start to experience more problems with your teeth. We evaluate the entire head and mouth for conditions pertaining to your oral health such as decay, cancer, sleep apnea and TMJ/TMD.
Dental Hygiene
Dental Hygiene is a big part of our practice. We pride ourselves in the care that patients receive. We hope that the knowledge offered by our friendly and professional hygienists helps patients understand the importance of daily care and taking control of their own oral health.
Emergency Care
Despite routine maintenance and carefully planned treatments, sometimes an problem arises when you do not have an appointment or our office is closed. Emergency care is sometimes needed when an infection, accident, root canal, or extraction suddenly presents itself. We are happy to help get you on the road to less pain. X-Rays
We will evaluate your teeth with x-rays for cavities and potential bone issues surrounding your teeth. We take radiographs (x rays) with as low a dose of radiation as is reasonable to achieve the best diagnosis.
Anesthesia
Though some procedures will not require anesthesia, others will need a local anesthesia to reduce your discomfort. We also offer prescription oral sedation for patients who are anxious about treatment.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride hardens the enamel and root surfaces of your teeth and helps lessen the potential for decay. Several different fluoride treatments are offered by our hygiene staff as a cavity-prevention boost.
Mouth Guards
Mouth guards offer protection for the teeth during sporting and work activities. We can fabricate mouth guards in our office to assure the best fit for protection.
Oral Cancer Screenings
We do an oral cancer screening in our initial comprehensive exam as well as with every cleaning appointment. It is important to detect this potentially devastating disease early and begin treatment.

CBCT - "Cone Beam CT"
This device generates a 3-D image of the head and teeth, and allows Dr. Stroud to have a better understanding of your unique structure. With this image, he is able to better place implants, and diagnose TMJ/TMD issues as well as other potential structural problems.
Cari-Vu
Cari-vu is a useful diagnostic instrument that does not use radiation, but rather passes infrared light into the tooth to see cavities, cracks and fracture lines.
Intra-Oral Camera
The intra-oral camera allows Dr. Stroud to show you close ups of your teeth that may have cracks or broken pieces as well as decay and discoloration.
Appliances or Splints
For people with TMJ/TMD, we offer an appliance/splint that repositions the jaw to aid with muscle and facial pain.
